Despacito the song of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi along with Daddy Yankee was released in 2017. It went on to become the most one streamed music at that time within six month. The combination of reggaeton and pop music did not just draw an interest to this genre but also to Latin music generally. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs mainly in Spanish by 2016 compared to just two songs in 2015. During the height of Despacito's popularity in 2017, however, 19 mostly Spanish tracks made the top 100 as well, and by 2020 there were 41 of them. Justin Bieber's bilingual version of Despacito came out in the year 2017. After that, some of the most pop stars began to collaborate with reggaeton performers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked with Maluma to create Medellin. By 2020 a few reggaeton stars were complaining about the genre's direction toward the mainstream but a new generation namely Rauw Alejandro, sought to continue the evolution of reggaeton. He often used electronic dance and other types.
